Building Services Manager

Wittenberg Village - Crown Point, IN - Full Time

Wittenberg Village in Crown Point is hiring a Building Services Manager, $60,000–$65,000 a year, commensurate with experience. Full-time, day hours, with on-call rotation.

As Building Services Manager, you'll oversee maintenance, environmental services, and security staff, keeping the community safe, functional, and welcoming for residents and staff alike. You'll report directly to the Executive Director.

What you'll do

  • Oversee daily building operations across maintenance, security, and environmental services
  • Manage team schedules, training, performance evaluations, and recruitment
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and applicable codes (NFPA, IDPH)
  • Coordinate maintenance requests, repairs, inspections, and preventative care
  • Chair the Safety Committee and collaborate across departments
  • Serve as the liaison for contractors and oversee facility projects
  • Participate in on-call rotation and step in for routine maintenance when needed

What you'll need

Required:

  • 2 years of technical or trade school training, or 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of CMS-recognized NFPA 101 Life Safety Code
  • Strong familiarity with hand and power tools
  • At least 18 years old

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in a healthcare environment
  • Strong communication skills working with residents, families, and team members from a range of backgrounds

Schedule
Full-time, day hours, with on-call rotation as needed.

Physical requirements
This role regularly involves talking, hearing, sitting, walking, and standing, and occasionally requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. You'll need close visual acuity for reading equipment readouts, screens, and print materials. Work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
